As a renowned horticulturist, Richard Evans has spent the last thirty years indulging in his passion for all things flora. The vast variety of shrubs and trees are accompanied by a range of homegrown plants which are indisputably some of the highest quality available in the North Wales region and beyond.
By Spring, the outdoor tables and shelves are overflowing with hundreds of homegrown geraniums and begonias, ready to be planted in tubs, flower beds and hanging baskets for miles around. The in house experts, including Richard himself, offer a valued planting service which includes stunning custom-made tubs and baskets for local hotels, shops and homes, all looking for a touch of Snowdonia magic to adorn their exteriors.
By Autumn and Winter, it is the turn of Richard’s award-winning homegrown poinsettias and cyclamen to take centre stage. These magnificent yet traditionally temperamental festive blooms have become famous in the region for their unparalleled strength and quality, providing the perfect gift for a friend or family member at Christmas.
What's growing now!
This year, Richard has expanded his greenhouse stock and is growing Autumn bedding!
There really is no competition when it comes to the Winter violas and pansies. They endure the harsher of winters and add that glorious pop of colour to baskets and tubs.
The stock grown on site is of high quality and you know that you are buying and supporting a local grower and business!
Just planted, this seasons Poinsettias!
Look how they have grown!
Now taking up two benches.
So far so good! The Poinsettias are looking good.
Today we are applying nematodes to the poinsettias to control any scared flies which are a constant pest problem to the crop.
Nematodes are a biological control. They are microscopic creatures that act as parasites on other insects.
This overcast weather is perfect for applying them as hot sunshine can kill the nematodes.
