The holly 'Little Rascal' scores with its evergreen, shiny leaves. These are serrated on the edge and are very dense on the violet-brown branches. When budding, the foliage glows a yellowish green colour; it is dark green in the summer and in the winter it gets a very beautiful, violet-coloured shimmer.
'Little Rascal' grows slowly and very compact. It naturally forms dense, spherical bushes. After five years it is about 40 cm high and 30 cm wide and remains under 100 cm, even as it ages. Ilex meserveae 'Little Rascal' is the ideal choice for small gardens, but it is also a long-lasting container plant for terraces, balconies and entrance areas. Because it is a male variety, this Ilex does not fruit, but tiny, tiny white (male) flowers that appear in May.
